How are PAC 12 officials officiating this game ?

So the replay official is also PAC 12

INSANE

HOW STUPID CAN ND’s negotiators be ?

Why do you care so much? Hahah

The refs were good tonight

Quit complaining about the dumbest things
So it’s your position that # 8 intercepted the pass that # 4 caught first ?

More proof that you know nothing about football !

Refs called a very fair game last night. It was easy to see why they called targeting on DJ Brown in real time, but replay overruled the call on the field, which was the right call when you watched the play in slo mo. And Coan's interception also was the right call. Coan threw a bad pass. We have no grumbles with the officiating last night.

I thought it was an interception. So did the refs and replay.
Even Terry McCauley said it was simultaneous possession and should have stayed with the receiving team, i.e. ND. The PAC-12 officials blew the call on the field and in replay

The officials were acceptable tonight, as is not always the case. I've never been a fan of the visiting team bringing in their own officials. The only bad call of the night was the "roughing the QB" call against the Irish in the first half. That was awful!
Maybe the Irish should hire some independent officials or enter a pact with the MAC or another conference to bring more balance for their home games.

Look at the replay in slow motion, Austin catches the ball with both hands, then # 8 grabs the ball, first with his right hand, then with his left hand.

Then they both fall to the ground.

Austin NEVER releases the ball, from the moment he caught it until after the play was blown dead.

NCAA rules dictate that a simultaneous catch is awarded to the receiver,NOT the defender !

And your opinion is based on what ?

Look at the play in slow motion and get back to us !
Based on the fact it was an int.
The replay official never reviewed the play !

Shows what you know about football.
Actually since it was ruled a turnover it was reviewed. All turnovers and touchdowns are reviewed. Didn’t you watch the game.

You didn’t watch the game.

I looked at the replay on the NBC condensed game feed on YouTube multiple times, frame by frame. Austin doesn't really catch and control the ball with both hands. He is sort of pushing the ball against the defender's chest, but doesn't seem to really have control of it. If Austin hadn't pressed the ball against the defender's chest, I think the balls falls to the ground. I just don't think Austin really ever caught the ball before he and the defender hit the ground together. Just before they fall to the ground, the defender wraps his arms around the ball. Then Austin grabs the ball. It's a bang-bang play that certainly could have gone the other way, but I don't think it was a catch.

Refs were very good. Only 1 bad call I saw all night.

And they made their calls quick. Game kept moving.

Good job by them

The opening pass to Austin was PI, not called. They held his hand down before the ball got there...

That was the first time I have ever seen a tie go to the defender, they both came down with it.....to lose that at home field is silly

The rushing TD to get them to 16 was a clear hold on White. The OL had his arm around his back and the Ref was watching it

There was continual holding on the WR screens and quick outs not called, but was called on ND.

For a PAC crew, they were OK. But this is home field, instead of getting 2-3 calls, they lost 2-3 calls. A home team should have their own refs. Its silly to have the same on-field and off-field.

I saw one that ended an IU comeback against Michigan. Same thing, it looked simultaneous but the defender had the better position and they gave the ball to M.

That’s in the NFL, NOT college, learn the distinction in replay rules before posing

If you look at frame by frame Austin catches the ball with both hands BEFORE # 8 grabs the ball.

Austin NEVER releases his grip on the ball until after the play is blown dead.

By RULE, the RECEIVER is awarded the ball

Wrong.

Its the rule in college as well

Nope. If offensive player has his hand and arm positioned on the defensive player and pulls the ball in at best it's dual possession. That's a catch then.
I'm just giving my opinion. And the refs and replay both saw it the same way

Well I was watching the game with three other people with a combined years of experience in football well over 100. We all thought they got it wrong. But it's irrelevant. The timing allowed USC to change the perception of the game. That's about it.

Wait a minute. They do too review turnovers. They reviewed that particular play also, the ref said so.

All turnovers will be reviewed from the booth with no coaches' challenges needed and overtime periods in the regular season will use the same scoring rules as the postseason after NFL owners voted to approve those proposals Wednesday. The replay official already reviews all scoring plays.

No, it’s not.

No they don’t!

You just cited the NFL rule.

Try researching the NCAA rules

Syd4ND,

Thanks, but your wasting your time as Golson5 is one of the most obtuse posters on this site.

He’s never right, but he’s never in doubt.

Did anyone hear the Referee announce, “After review of the play, the ruling on the field stands.”

NO ?

Then NO replay review took place !
