Maybe even an upgrade! A great recruiter and a co-offensive coordinator!

Notre Dame Expected to Hire Penn State Running Backs Coach Ja’Juan Seider

Penn State running backs coach Ja’Juan Seider is expected to accept the same position at Notre Dame. Seider arrived in Happy Valley in 2018 and also serves as the Nittany Lions’ assistant head coach and co-offensive coordinator.

Even Chase might like this hire! (*Seems we really opened the wallet.)

Almost impossible to be an upgrade but I'm a huge Deland fan. Excellent hire if true though.

Love this hire.

Chase, this message is for you.

When you look at all the returning starters on this team that made it to the title game, if whoever the starter is next year hits gold , I seriously don't think you can use the talent argument. On Paper, they can match up with anyone. Ohio State loses alot. WR position will be more lethal for us. Better passer at QB position. Most important factor is our defensive line needs to be healthier/better.

Michigan gets pressure on Ohio state blitzing 4. I think we can do that next year.

The 2025 Ohio St. roster, say the top 35 players, IMO is better than any other roster in CFB.

Like Notre Dame, Ohio St. will start an inexperienced QB with zero meaningful starts, which will carry concerns all the way to game 1.

I personally can't stand Franklin. There's just something about him that makes him look like a smug a-hole. It surprises me he recruits as well as he does.
Seconded. Been saying such since his hire, since his Vandy career was overrated and he did some slimy things during the rape incident/trial by four of his players

But worse, he is smug, as witnessed preceding the OB. His win % against OSU, Michigan, MSU, SEC and the Irish is like 28%

I don’t think you know what blitzing means

Sorry my friend, what I meant is wolverines are able to get pressure, be disruptive vs ohio state by not blitzing. During the title we could not do this.

The massive talent advantage at reciever for the buckeyes is diminished if we can put safeties overtop of Smith....Tate.

Don't think we can beat them until we have the personel to do this.

I feel like in 2023 we were able to do this. Just unlucky.

So, elephant in the room - why? Has every title he could want at PSU, co-OC, assistant HC. It's not like they suck on the field either. No one expected this move because it never occured to anyone that he would tmake a lateral move.

Is it money? A personality thing with Freeman over Franklin? Did he just want to raise his national profile with a big, splashy move?

Also, is he getting those titles at ND?

Guess we'll find out.

First it wasn't a massive talent advantage. Moore is as good of a corner as Smith is a wide receiver. Ohio St picked on a corner who got into his own head and was not in technique all game. Boundary receivers didn't have many targets because Moore is that good and the Ohio St game plan was brilliant. Also, Ohio st loses two very good running backs who have played a lot of football.

Moore is as good of a corner as Smith is a wide receiver.

This might be the dumbest comment i have seen since the Nat'l championship game.

Then you’re an idiot. Leonard Moore is a special athlete. This dude might’ve been the best CB in CFB the last half of the year. Nobody was successful against him. NOBODY

The monopoly ohio state has at reciever is starting to bother me.

They will have Smith for 2 more years.

Oh BTW, they have the #1 WR locked up for 2026 already.

Smith could have been the #1 pick THIS year. And you are saying Leonard is better than him? I wish I could agree with you. If your opinion was the case we probably win the national championship.

How will that affect their F+ .

Smith was lined up across from more half of the time they were on the field. How many targets did Smith get and also how many times did OSU challenge Moore down the field? Do you even watch football?

You are an elite corner when teams just flat out refuse to throw your way. That is what everyone in the back half of the season did against Moore. He would get 2 to 3 targets and that was it.

Gonna be very interesting to watch what Mickens does with 6'4" Jadon Blair. Apparently he was impressive in bowl prep. I expect him to play next year despite a loaded back end including Stroman and DeVonta Smith! Is he the next Shuler or Moore -- a youngster who makes a jump.

You’re asking me to compare a CB to a WR and tell you who’s better. I simply stated Moore was probably the best CB in all of CFB the last half of the year. That’s all I’m saying. You think Smith would tear him up? I don’t. I think Smith would make some plays, but he’s not going to have an easy time against Moore either.

Great points. All of Smith’s production/targets came against Gray (not Moore). OSU didn’t really even bother to attack Moore. Guess they knew

Indiana tried to early on for whatever reason. It never even resulted in a single completion that I can recall, and it buried them.
