One article raises a problem for any transfer to an SEC school:

"The compliance official said Golson's academic suspension in 2013 might hinder his admission to one of that conference's schools because of SEC Bylaw 14.1.15.1 (d), which states that a student-athlete with less than two years of eligibility left can get financial aid, practice and compete if, "The student-athlete has not been subject to official university or athletics department disciplinary action at any time during enrollment at any previous collegiate institution (excluding limited discipline applied by a sports team)."

Is there a work around for this?

He will most likely still be admitted. The rule was designed to stop a player that is 'serving' or 'due to serve' a punishment from transferring to the SEC and getting play time. Golson having served his will most likely get an okay from the compliance office.

I agree. An applied for waiver of that rule will be honored.

1. the intent of the ruling should not apply to Golson

2. Golson paid his dues and came back and graduated from ND for God's sake. The SEC and Slive would look foolish to deny entrance based on a rule that shouldn't apply to his case.

3. I'm sure he has been told this already or why would he be wasting his time visiting UF, UGA and USCe?

That's how I see it.
