Whether it was BK, TR involved the offense comes out and attempted their run of the mill offense. They get behind and then have to open up the playbook. You see SC last week come out in the first three plays introduce a wrinkle that had the ND defense on its heels. From that point ND had no clue what was coming next.

If TR is going to stay as the offensive coordinator he needs to figure out how to setup these big plays while staying with what got you to the dance. Thoughts?

ND was limited a QB, because they came into the season with an unproven starter, a QB3, pretending to be QB2, and a true Freshman.

The program was in desperate need of a 5th year, because if your unproven QB1, went down, your QB3, pretending to be QB2, would now be your starter.

The gameplan had to stay basic, the ONLY way ND could move the chains this year, was run the ball effectively, then use bootlegs, play action and RP0s, to create a semblance of a passing game. When the run bogged down, OSU, Marshall, Stanford, 2nd Half and USC. Then ND could not move the ball.

Evidenced by 4 losses and getting out of Navy, by the skin of their cajons

Maybe they could have come up with gadget early on, but in reality, if ND comes out, hands the ball off early, and gains yards. They will be fine. If they come out early, hand off and can't run? It's going to be a struggle. That is 2022 in a nutshell. Having weapons, but no QB, is like having a Ferrari, with an empty gas tank.

This is NDs version of "wrinkle" this season yet you didn't see any RPO or bootleg under center in the 1st 2 or 3 drives against SC. Pyne was better when he the pocket moved. The jet sweep 4th and 1 business was not their identity that won 5 in a row.
