Yes indeed. With the start of NIL the SEC teams aren't the only ones paying players.. When they don’t have the best rosters anymore since Nil and transfer portal seems the playing field leveled out a little and they aren’t taking it well.
I know you meant parity but actually that is a funny comment and rather truePeople may hate them, but NIL and the portal are leveling the playing field and creating parody in CFB.
I feel like it's the opposite. Big dog programs can recruit the best HS players, go through a sifting process and separate the wheat from the chaff, dump the various busts and malcontents and underachievers onto the portal, and then themselves go to the portal and scoop up all the best players from the G5 ranks, and teams like Purdue, and even from 1-AA, and in rather efficient fashion, maximize their rosters and their depth charts. Heck, just being able to raid the portal as needed to fill a critical need or two is a huge advantage for big dog programs, who otherwise have robust roster stability.People may hate them, but NIL and the portal are leveling the playing field and creating parody in CFB.
I find it comical that they're having a meltdown.
Indiana is 11-1 and in the college football playoff after going 3-9 last year because of transfers. Colorado went from 1-11 to 9-3 in 2 years with an idiot coach because of transfers. Vandy is beating teams like Alabama. Michigan just went from a national title to 5-5. SMU went from the AAC to playing for the ACC championship in their first year. Georgia, Ohio State, Bama, LSU are no longer dominating the Top 4 anymore. Schools have enough money to lure a few top players so the blue bloods can't hoard all the 5 stars on their benches anymore. Only the G5 teams are getting hosed.I feel like it's the opposite. So I don't think it creates 'parody'. It encourages the opposite.
Is there anything inaccurate about what I said? Can big dog programs recruit the best HS players, keep only the good ones on their roster, and then replace them in the portal with proven role player and fill needs, in addition to bringing in proven stars as well, typically coming from teams and their rosters lower on the food chain? All you did was cite the normal ebbs and flows of any series of seasons in the sport of CFB. I have no idea the relevance of Michigan dropping down to 7-5 after winning a title. And I don't think SMU is winning because they have a bunch of five stars that are finally getting the chance to kick some ass, when they couldn't cut it at Bama. Every team can use the portal to stock their roster as best they can. It's a zero sum game. And the rich, big dog programs have the opportunity to dominate the portal the way they do HS football recuriting with their larger war chests when it comes NIL. If playing at SMU gives a bench warmer at UGA the chance to start, playing at UGA for a star at SMU gives him the chance to win a title, and get a payday. So I would think it's largely a wash. Or indeed, in theory at least, it helps the big fish more than it does the minnows.Indiana is 11-1 and in the college football playoff after going 3-9 last year because of transfers. No running game at Bama.Alabama looking like a playoff team. Not so much.

Now list Mich’s opt-outs Karine! Inflation is transitoryHere's a look at the Crimson Tide's list of inactive players for the 2024 ReliaQuest Bowl:
When you consider that these bowl games are basically exhibition games at this point, with many of the 2 deep opting out or not playing to heal up (or guys transferred out) it's hard to use these games to evaluate a team's playoff worthiness.

Exactly. Neither of these teams are anywhere near their optimal regular season form (with the roster that earned their present positioning in the F+ ranking system). Which is why it's hard to use these games as a measuring stick. Now list Mich’s opt-outs Karine! Inflation is transitory
Nice attempted spin! Here's a look at the Crimson Tide's list of inactive players for the 2024 ReliaQuest Bowl:

what else can we expect?Nice attempted spin!
ExactlyTotal nonsense. Bama was left out of the playoffs as a result of three conference losses (Tennessee, Vandy and Oklahoma). The OU loss, which occurred near the end of the season, was particularly bad. Losing by 21 points to a 6-6 team doesn't cut it.
Me complaining about the state of college football lolwhat else can we expect?
The SC v IL doesn't look like an exhibition gameHere's a look at the Crimson Tide's list of inactive players for the 2024 ReliaQuest Bowl:

Yet you didn’t mention such when highlighting the ACC gamesExactly. Neither of these teams are anywhere near their optimal regular season form (with the roster that earned their present positioning in the F+ ranking system). Which is why it's hard to use these games as a measuring stick.
