2026 Mock Draft- Fields #8

His highlight reel is pretty impressive. I wonder how much we paid because he's so impressive that you almost wonder why he didn't turn pro this year. Not that he was some lock 1st rounder, and he presumably wasn't, but he is a productive, athletic, hulking, 6-4 badass in his clips. He was a major portal score.

2026 mock draft

8 Fields to Cleveland
14 Love to Dallas
19 Jagusah to Tampa Bay

Tells you the 24 team was very young and 25 has national champion potential!

I count 10 seniors Notre Dame starters combined on offense//defense last season. That is not very young, IMO.

Agreed. We're fixing to go on a run here. This is MF's moment, his 88-93 Lou Holtz type stetch of years. The whole thing with Jagusah seems a little much. That seems like a name being latched onto by the draft chattering class as they are wont to do. He's got the potential I suppose, but precious little actual game time to base almost anything on. He was highly recruited, but for someone who hasn't played hardly at all, has already suffered a season long injury, fortunately not his knees, and apparently is being moved to guard because other players appear better suited to handle the all-important LT position, why is he being singled out as some sure fire 1st rounder? He must have graded out well in the title game.

If this is true, why didn't he declare NFL this year? Fields has already played four seasons in CFB. What changed?
He leaves for the draft this year, he’s potentially a 6-7 rounder, realistically probably an undrafted free agent making scraps. He transfers to a place like ND, he balls out, makes a name for himself, then gets catapulted to an earlier round like in the 3-4 range, that’s more guaranteed salary all while making pretty nice bank at a university like ND. NIL benefits programs like ND greatly. There was a reason we were in the NC this season.

Jagusah's placement here puts the integrity of the entire mock draft/content into question.

This take i can maybe get behind. a player with a 6th or 7th round grade who can work his way into the middle rounds with a big season. If his NFL prospects were any better -- like another poster stated -- he probably would have declared already

i think one of the overlooked parts of Field's game is his ability to use his size to block opposing DBs which ND leans heavily on its receivers for to open up those explosive run plays.

He's also a solid 4 star transfer ranked #11 at his position in the latest TP rankings at 247. He was a nice get at a position of need.

Sounds like chaseball.

Agree with OP that this is eye opening. I shrugged off his top 20 spot on CBS list but after this, I watched did 10 minute YouTube highlights for last year. He has great ball skills and goes down harder then Wild Turkey.

Why? A year out they are making it on talent and upside. On3 had him as a 5 star recruit. You live rankings until they are good for Notre Dame. Troll
Agree. Jagusah is a Day 1 or Day 2 pick whenever he decides to come out.
