Can we stop with the talent gap argument

Notre dame
5 olineman that will collect nfl
Paycheck
2 tight ends
2 backs

defense
4 defensive lineman
1 backer
And possibly 2 db

please stop. Also I constantly hear about our wide receivers not getting separation that included 2018 when we had two 2nd round picks at wr. The issue is not talent. Sorry. It Is something else.

Couldn't they have waited a week?

Vanderbilt is gonna be 0-12 this year., Notre Dame is on a track to actually win a national championship first time in 32 years.
Recruiting signing date is in 2 days. There is NO way that any Lea announcement can enhance the terrible football situation at Vanderbilt.
Couldn't everyone just have waited until Notre Dame plays on Saturday???
And does this mean Lea won't be around with Notre Dame when ND makes it into the final four?
This situation is going to have a big effect on this football team. Don't kid yourself here.

I may be delusional

Here’s my theory and grant you I may be delusional. The Irish planned a very vanilla offensive game plan internationally. Odds are we were splitting with Clemson regardless and odds were we were making the playoffs regardless. So what is the incentive do we have for laying it all out and winning this game. We didn’t run any screen passes, abandoned the run early, very little misdirection. Call me crazy but I guarantee a better showing against Bama.

Notre Dame's touchdown percentage in the red zone

NCAA College Football FBS current team Stats | NCAA.com

Scoring touchdowns in the red zone has been a problem for ND this season. I have linked the up to date stats on scoring in the red zone. I have listed below the 4-playoff teams plus some others of interest to see if the ND scoring touchdowns in the red zone is in fact a problem in 2020:

Notre Dame: 59% touchdown percentage in the red zone

Alabama: 77% touchdown percentage in the red zone

Clemson: 70% touchdown percentage in the red zone

Ohio State: 62% touchdown percentage in the red zone

Texas A&M: 66% touchdown percentage in the red zone

Florida: 72% touchdown percentage in the red zone

Oklahoma: 68% touchdown percentage in the red zone

Michigan: 77% touchdown percentage in the red zone

So it was not my imagination. This has been a problem and has to be addressed someway before the Irish play Alabama. ND simply can not leave points on the field against the Tide.

Please Kelly, let someone like Bettis

give the pre-gane speech. ND does not have the talent to take a professional approach to this game. And Kelly is not the inspirational type. Let some former player like Bettis, or Zorich address the team. Tell the team that ND has a reputation for being soft and has played like pansies in every big gane the last 27 years. Tonight will be different. It’s time to play like ur in a street fight for ur life. No matter how hurt or pain, you better get up and fight back bc your life is at stake.

Irish need an "alternative panic package" vs. Bama

After the 2012 game when the Alabama players said they knew what ND was going to do just by the way they lined up, they will have studied ND to a T this time around also. So when the Book scrambling isn't working this time either, I am praying ND has a few alternatives in play calling to hopefully throw Bama off a little, such as screen passes and slant passes and more RPO.
They cannot expect Book to run around and wait 7 or 8 seconds to find an open receiver this next game either.
If the Rees offense can have a couple of quick 2 to 3 second release passes, Bama will be dumb founded, at least for a few plays.
