Helene havoc

Hurricane Helene has moved inland and is wreaking havoc on the southeast and lower midwest.

Liberty at App State has already been cancelled due to severe flooding in and around Boone, NC.

Any game scheduled to be played in Kentucky, Tennessee, Virginia, North Carolina, or southern Indiana/Ohio is prone to heavy rain and strong winds. Games set for South Carolina, Georgia or Florida may face extremely wet fields and travel difficulties.

Basketball MBB: Notre Dame offered a pair of 2027 visitors last weekend

Busy week, so finally getting to these. Notre Dame men's basketball offered a pair 2027 in-state recruits who visited last weekend around the Miami (Ohio) football game: five-star SF Jaylan Mitchell and three-star PG Jason Gardner Jr.

Login to view embedded media Rivals ranks Mitchell as the No. 4 overall prospect in the 2027 class. Notre Dame became his eighth offer after Evansville, Southern Indiana, Illinois, Arizona State, Missouri, TCU and Maryland. He averaged 15.6 points, 8.2 rebounds, 3.9 assists and 2.2 steals per game as a freshman at Evansville (Ind.) F.J. Reitz High.

He averaged 7.2 points, 2.9 rebounds and 2.4 assists per game as a freshman for Class 4A state champions Fishers (Ind.) High. Gardner was with his Fishers team when it participated in ND's team camp in June.

Football Film Analysis: Is Riley Leonard finding rhythm in Notre Dame's offense?

Riley Leonard showed improvement in deep passing and pocket awareness and continued to be a threat to run the football against Miami (Ohio). We'll find out Saturday if those gains will hold against Louisville's quality defense.

Jalen Haralson is the Irish. Notre Dame fought off the big dogs to beat Indiana and Michigan State for the in-state product.

Recruiting New 2025 WR offer in Texas | SMU commit Jalen Cooper

Notre Dame's second 2025 wide receiver offer of the night went to SMU four-star commit Jalen Cooper.

Cooper caught 63 passes for 1,578 yards and 23 touchdowns in his junior season at Cibolo (Texas) Steele. He committed to SMU in July. Texas A&M, Baylor, Kansas State and Kansas were also in his top five.

UCLA WR commit Jace Brown received an offer earlier Thursday night.

Basketball WBB: Marina Mabrey helps Connecticut end Caitlin Clark's rookie season

Former Notre Dame women's basketball player Marina Mabrey scored 17 points, including a key 3-pointer late, in a 87-81 victory for the Connecticut Sun over the Indiana Fever to clinch a WNBA playoffs first-round series in two games.

Mabrey wasn't efficient from the field — 6-of-18 on field goals and 3-of-10 from 3 — but she added six assists and two rebounds in a winning effort.

Caitlin Clark scored 25 points on 23 shots from the field, including 3-of-12 from 3. She added nine assists and six rebounds.

Recruiting New 2025 DE offer in Georgia | Tim Griffin

Tim Griffin, a 2025 defensive end from Covington (Ga.) Alcovy, reported a Notre Dame offer Friday. Griffin's recruiting profile has taken a big jump early in his senior season. Prior to this month, Griffin's offer list included Alabama A&M, Georgia State, UMass and Western Kentucky. The Hilltoppers became his first D-I offer in May.

Griffin received an Alabama offer on his visit for the South Florida game. Now he's drawing more attention elsewhere. Notre Dame offered Friday. Then Florida, who hosted him last weekend for its game against Texas A&M, offered later in the day.
