Football Tyson Ford declares plan to enter the transfer portal

More of a formality than news here, but former Notre Dame DL Tyson Ford has announced that he plans to enter the transfer portal after graduating from Notre Dame in May.

Ford has not been with the football team this season. He was deemed medically retired in June.

Recruiting Intel: How Notre Dame fared with visitors for Louisville game

I’ve made some calls to gather intel on how things went this weekend for Notre Dame football recruiting. The program doesn’t have the heat that Notre Dame men’s basketball coach Micah Shrewsberry is dealing right now, but the Irish football staff put a good foot forward over the weekend.

Let’s start with a new FutureCast prediction for me …

Stadium Noise Against Louisville

Watched Jeff Brohm’s presser after the game. Several times he mentioned how the stadium noise affected his team and communication from the sidelines. I was at the game (section 26 lower level). I screamed my lungs out when Louisville faced 3rd and 4th down as did almost all the other fans around me. I wasn’t sure if we were making a difference at the time. But, according to Brohm, it did. The student section was amazing. Loud as hell, wearing green and waving the pom poms. All the fans were wearing green. There was red in the visitor’s section and a smattering of red elsewhere. But everyone in green did their part to make things difficult for Louisville.

Football A pair of weekly honors for Notre Dame QB Riley Leonard's performance against Louisville

Riley Leonard was named Senior Bowl Offensive Player of the Week and a member of the Davey O'Brien Great 8 list for his performance against Louisville.

Leonard completed 73.9% of his passes (17-of-23) for 163 yards and two touchdowns and rushed 13 times for 52 yards and one touchdowns.

This is Leonard's second Great 8 selection of the season. The first was following the 66-7 win over Purdue.

Dan Hicks — an Anti-ND force

Who needs SEC bias against us when we have our own NBC Dan Hicks:

— on national tv, Hicks chooses to spread and thereby give legitimacy and momentum to a narrative that we can’t make the playoff unless we win the rest of our games

— brings up N Illinois as many times as he can

— cannot hide his glee when things go poorly for us.

Hicks was a closet ND hater who has come out of closet.

Notre Dame is destined to be a fringe playoff team

Under Marcus Freeman. All the pressure to win is making MF tightly grip the offense. It’s prevent offense. Loser mentality.

Look around college football, the aggressive play calling, the passing, deep shots. FR playing everywhere, at QB and WR, a lot of them producing. At Notre Dame, players come here and regress. Prevent offense.

This is a duck team, duck program. One of our biggest games of the year being broadcasted on a got damn app like Peacock. Embarrassing.
