Lets talk PSU

Living in State College and working at the Unversity, I can tell you that the current talk and the feeling I get is that PSU is not taking ND quite as seriously as they probably should. They talk about SOS and also that UGA didn't have their starting QB. I don't agree with that sentiment of course, just saying what the current buzz is concerning this matchup.

At least the fanbase isn't. Most expect a PSU win and many are saying a convincing win. I hope our boys take PSU to the woodshed tbh. Maybe its because I live here, but this fanbase is super annoying and obnoxious.
Georgia fans were OVER-CONFIDENT as well. From the pundits on down.

When a team wins the way THIS ND TEAM HAS, there's a tendency to see it all as a FLUKE. Fact is, this ND team has won on FUNDAMENTALS, and IF IT'S TO BEAT PENN STATE, that's LIKELY what it will take.

Which means that, assuming that ND plays at its USUAL EFFICIENCY LEVEL, Penn State -- if THEY are to win -- will have to OUT-FUNDAMENTAL ND. Which they could do, though it's NOT LIKELY that they could do it by any GREAT MARGIN.

The parts we can't factor in, though, are CRITICAL penalties, turnovers and injuries.

While I see ND as the slightly OVERALL better team, EITHER TEAM COULD WIN.

How much money did ND save extending MF before he beat Georgia and made it to the final 4 ?

“Not to mention they were an offense-leaning team this year and their veteran starting QB was out vs ND”

Wrong again (which is redundant w/ you). Georgia had the 24th ranked defense in the country & the 37th ranked offense in the country. How can a stats genuflector like yourself miss that?
I'm using the opponent and luck adjusted stats that F+ provides. The last time I checked they had the number 6 offense and number 11 defense but that has since gone down after their performance versus Notre Dame

edit/update: Georgia's OF+ is 10th now, and their DF+ is 12th

Lets talk PSU

Stat wise PSU is ranked higher than Georgia. However, you should factor in SOS. Bowling Green scored 27, the ducks scored 45 and OSU scored 20.

Georgia has better players overall. I do not expect PSU to hold ND to less than 250 total yards like Georgia did.

Abdul Carter #11 is a monster off the edge. Right now he is a game time decision. He is one of the best defensive players ND has seen all season.
The board hasn't talked a ton about Carter. Have to believe he plays, right?

It's crazy to think not all credits transferred in from Duke

Duke is an academically respected school, just odd. Wonder what classes Leonard was taking that couldn't be transferred.

Why is that odd? ND is a small school. They don’t offer as many classes as a major research university like Duke. You can’t give credit for a class you don’t have.

It's crazy to think not all credits transferred in from Duke

Maybe because they transferred from Navy, Northwestern and Duke - three excellent academic schools. So they were more likely to qualify. Undergrad transfers need to be up on their credits and on track to graduate in 4 years, in order to qualify.
Agreed, but not only that. ND takes the courses they require first year students to take quite seriously. If an undergrad who wants to transfer to ND hadn't taken those courses at the other school, he probably wouldn't be allowed to transfer to ND. Schools like Army, Navy, Duke, Northwestern, Stanford and a very few others have similar freshman year requirements.
