Will ND pay Golden

I just took a look at the chatter on a few Clemson boards. They are delusional. Many seem to think that Golden is theirs if they want him, though some apparently think he isn't worthy of the position because Clemson "exposed" him when he was the head coach at Miami. Now that's precious. It was like the guys here saying we should just go after Nick Saban or Urban Meyer. Total fantasy.

I cannot imagine money will be an issue; Freeman and Bevacqua will make sure Golden is paid whatever is needed to keep him at ND, assuming Golden decides he wants to remain a DC in college. And why would Golden want to move over to a program that may be in a downward trajectory (Clemson) for one that is moving up the scale? To be sure, Clemson is still a very good football program, but the bloom is off the rose from where they were 5 or 6 years ago.

From articles I have read on Golden he seems to really like the culture at ND, and I also read his son is attending ND, though I have not attempted to verify that. If Golden moves on, it will be because he is offered a DC job with an NFL team, or a college decides to offer him a head coaching position. He ain't going to Clemson to become the new DC there.
Yes, his son is a freshman at ND.

How much money did ND save extending MF before he beat Georgia and made it to the final 4 ?

Speaking of paying coaches. Did we give Al golden a hefty pay raise ? Hope so cause he’s in the short list of candidates to be the bengals d coordinator. Already reading articles about Cincinnati interest in him. This would be a huge loss for us going in to next season.

Although I heard he has a son that is a freshman at ND so hopefully he stays 4 more seasons.
Three more seasons. Three more years to graduate. And I would take three that would be great.

PSU QB is the best ND has faced. He is the real deal.

I haven't watched a lot of tape of Allar, but he seems to be pretty accurate when he has time to throw. When the pocket gets dirty, he seems to get antsy and isn't nearly as accurate. So it would seem the key will be creating pressure, just like Golden did with Gunner Stockton, and as he has done all season. Play Cover 1 and bring the heat. Allar doesn't seem like much of a running threat, though he is probably more athletic than some give him credit for.

Interesting read on NIL and revenue sharing

I agree.

Today is the day.

I'm going to be bolted to my couch hoping MF makes even greater history today.

One game at a time.

Go Fighting Irish!
Today is the day! I however F'd up the other day and booked a flight out tonight at 9:00 PM not realizing the game was tonight. It's a regional trip so I'm hoping my flight has wifi or onboard TV.

X factor tonight

Lots of candidates…. Is it Faison? Greathouse? Raridon? Price? Bowen? Sneed? Shuler?

Defense: I’m going Watts. The gameplan is simple, stop the run and force Allar to beat you with his arm. Take away Tyler Warren and Penn State will struggle mightily to move the football. They keep telling us Tyler Warren is a unicorn, but our safety tandem is the best in this playoffs. I am confident Watts can contain Warren.

Offence: going left field here and going to say Greathouse. Faison is the candidate to break out but I think he may get extra attention. Penn State might limit our ability to run the football and Leonard will have to have some success throwing. We will have lots of one on one coverage and I think Greathouse’s superb route running will create separation and some big gains.

Who do you guys think are going to be the X factors for the boys tonight?

He's going to leave for a lateral move? Please. I think he will get offered HFC positions sooner than later. Just a question as to whether or not he wants to be an HFC again.

He is over rated and we must get to him If we can pressure him he will fold
He is definitely not overrated.
When you play 15 games and only have 7 picks with 24 TDs you are not overrated.

He is very accurate and very dangerous. Like I said, he is the best QB ND has faced all season.

Today's Orange Bowl press conference

“Actually the CCG's didn't hurt the losing teams. PSU lost theirs, didn't drop in the CFP and honestly received the easiest path to the semi-finals.”

You’re absolutely right, NJ. My point was that in the past, CCGs could either help or hurt. Now they declared that losses in CCGs shouldn’t hurt teams. So their bitching and moaning to begin w/ was BS & now that it can’t hurt (only help) conference teams, they should just stfu and realize that we’re getting screwed & they’re not, and they certainly shouldn’t be crying about it like baldy did.
