K. Russell is a man. Maybe Greg Bryant can learn from him and come back for his senior year.

Hopefully we can generate some kind of pass rush to give these guys some help, preferably from the hands in the ground guys. Russell and Luke may be very good, but only for so long into each play.
Ara check ND's defensive stats before injuries last yr . They have 10 NFL level guys on defense . Tad more than potential .
It's striking hearing his quotes then reading the article on Bryant from the other site that has quotes from his dad. We'll see how all this plays out with Bryant but all you hear in this article was personal accountability, while in Bryant's article it was pretty much blamed on the coaching transition and something along the lines of some kids just need more attention and the coaches being in transition hurt. Stark difference in theme.
Continually, North Carolina exposed our defense weakness last year before the injuries decimated us. Thought Van Gorder was scheming like a mad man and coaching a very disruptive defense until the a North Carolina game. We'll never know how good or bad we might have been without all the injuries, but I felt the North Carolina game was a huge red flag. Agree with Ara that a year later this defense has the potential to be very very good.

Telx, the defense was exposed but it should have been an easy win for ND if (Golson) didn't turn it over 3 times including a dumb throw that an NC defender ran it back 29 yards to put the Irish in the whole 14 to nothing. I think cutting down on turnovers is even a little more important than defense
this year if the Irish are to have a special year. I hope Malik and crew can drastically cut down on them. Also cutting down on stupid penalties. (partly coaching)

Bodie, can't disagree about the critical importance of reducing turnovers this year. Hope we see a huge swing in the ratio of forced turnovers to our turnovers.
