I have no inside or outside info on what names are on the recruiting board

in Coach KELLY;s office. BUT by looking at the 2015 roster and subtracting the

names of lads who will move on to their 40 year adventure & the lads who may

leave for the NFL or other green pastures common sense will show us what

positions will need help next year. Nothing is written in stone but in order to

maintain the depth needed recruiting has to have guidelines based on need.

The KELLY staff has done a great job so far and will again.

So just for the helluve it here is an idea of the targets needed by position.

After 2015 GOLSON is definitely gone---add 1QB ---HASKINS is looking good so far

RB--PROSISE probably gone & FOLSTON maybe--TONY JONES + 1all purpose back

RECR--CARLISLE & BROWN---add CORLEY & ???

TE--no one leaves but maybe 1 , good habit to get into

OL--STANLEY /MARTIN / HARRELL gone---KRAEMER + 2 studs

DEFENSE

DL---DAY gone--JONES & OKWARA possible------wide open for a few good men

LB--SCHMIDT gone, maybe GRACE & JAYLON-----COACH BVG will be on the prowl

CB--RUSSELL GONE----LOVE on board

NOW the BIG ONE-----SAFETY----BARATTI / SHUNATE / TURNER / FARLEY & SEBASTIAN

hit the road-----the depth is gone----and what is left is inexperienced.

Okwara will likely stay to be with his brother 1 year; and he is very young for NFL wars.
Then there is the younger Jones too; so maybe JJ stays for same reason.
All in the Family!

I really hope we see Coach Lyght recruit some DB's that truly can start as frosh......then star! Safeties are a big need this season too.

Go Irish!!!

35, thanks for the effort to lay this out. Safety needs jumps off the board, as it did this past year as well. We have good Depth everywhere else. Hope we get two pure safeties and a couple of DB that can play either position. Should be our first and second and third priority!

I think, unfortunately, that Okwara is out of eligibility after this coming season. My best recollection is that he did NOT have a redshirt year, and thus this upcoming season is his senior season.

^ I know he played as a Fr.: isn't there some sort of threshold to lose a full year?
good grief he was only 16 yrs old.

perse:

Yes, I believe if a player plays in 20% or less of the games his freshman year, he retains that extra year of eligibility (as long as he does not play at all after game 6 of his freshman year). BUT, I believe I read somewhere (can't remember where) that this upcoming season is indeed Okwara's last season of eligibility.

I agree that, given he is so young, it would have been great if he could have had 2 more seasons for ND.

Unfortunately ROMEO played in all 13 games PERSE. He was a big man

on the Specials ---helped ND go unbeaten. It is a shame he is penciled in

tostart at DE and if he has a good year we may see him at the MEADOWLANDS.

YES SIR UNCLE PERSE we may have a lot of younger brothers on the team

if they are any good----besides OKWARAs JARRON JONES brother---you really can't call any of these

kids "LITTLT BROTHERS---none of them are little----and EQUINAMOUS's brother has an offer too.

I think 35 meant to type WR Donnie Corley nor Gorley. Would be a great get!!

IGood Morning Mr SKI---

t's CORLEY spelt with a G-see SKI ---it's a trick I learned in

the JAMES BOND SPY SCHOOL.

DONNIE CORLEY 6-2/180 is the #1 lad on our Wide Receiver Board.

He was at Junior Day and is a crystal ball for the FIGHTING IRISH.

Coaches Gilmore and Sanford on the case

MR C --TONY is rated a 4* by 247 and SCOUTC and after a fewscratches of the head

RIVALS will catch up-----by that time,TONY, the best RB in FLORIDA will be a 5* ----

he is SUPERCALIFRAGILI---oh shucks my keyboard ran out of letters.
